At DementiAgility, we empathize with the challenges that individuals, care partners, and healthcare professionals face when navigating the world of dementia care. Our philosophy is based on Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care® as well as the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. Whether you chose the Certified Dementia Practitioner® course, or PAC™ Champion courses, you are choosing to elevate your level of knowledge and care.

Our Professional Services
CoACHING
Skill Refinement: Our coaching services are designed to help you and your team refine specific caregiving skills. Whether it’s communication, problem-solving, or hands-on care techniques, our coaches guide you through skill development and improvement.
One-on-One Guidance: Through one-on-one coaching sessions, to improve HUH™, PPA™ and GEMS® knowledge with ongoing support, you’ll receive personalized guidance to enhance your caregiving abilities.
This is for Professionals: $150.00 per hour
Travel and incidents are billed for services provided outside of the State of Utah in accordance with the GSA.gov guidelines. Currently this is $178/day for meals and hotel costs and $0.70/mile for travel. Airfare is passed on directly to customer for billing. There are some areas in the USA that are at a higher per diem rate. Per diem rates, if indicated will be provided at time of booking.
Education

Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Course:
The Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Course provides participants with a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Alzheimer’s dementia. Through this course, you’ll not only gain knowledge but also practical caregiving skills. You’ll learn effective communication techniques, and problem-solving strategies, that are vital for providing exceptional care to individuals with dementia. Certification: Upon completion of this course, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for the title Certified Dementia Practitioner®or Volunteer, reinforcing your expertise in dementia care. This curriculum is provided by the National Council of Certified Dementia™ Practitioners.
Cost $225.00 per person. Paper Student Reference handbooks are available at additional cost: Hardcopy: $60.00. The digital manual cost is included in the price of the class. The digital manual is available through the Mimeo App and is tied to an email address. If you want to share information for a group, the paper manual is recommended.

Champion Courses:
Our Champion Courses are designed to empower Care Partner and healthcare professionals with a holistic approach to dementia care. These courses cover a wide range of techniques, including Positive Approach®, Positive Approach to Care®, PAC™, GEMS®, Hand-under-Hand® (HuH™), and Positive Physical Approach™ (PPA™). Hands-On Learning: Participants engage in hands-on learning experiences that simulate real-world caregiving situations. These courses foster practical skills development and promote confidence in delivering person-centered care. This set of courses teach the skills to enhance interactions for people living with Dementia. These courses have made a positive impact in the world of dementia care. Due to the degree of skill practice, class size limit is 10 individuals.
Champion 1: Positive Physical Approach™ (PPA™): Learn to make interactions more positive for all.
Champion 2: Hand-under-Hand® (HuH®): Begin to appreciate the use of touch to close the loop on communication.
Champion 3: Adapt your approach for the different GEMS® States.
Champion 4: GEMS® State Recognition: Notice what skills remain at each step of this journey.

PAC™ Workshop series
PAC™ Typical vs Atypical Aging
This workshop helps learners understand and recognize the differences in typical and atypical aging. The learner will develop better observational skills to recognize and intervene effectively when behavioral challenges occur. Learners will also develop new skills related to approach, cueing, and the ability to connect with people affected by dementia. The workshop will also address typical changes that happen in the early, middle, and late stages of the condition including the final care concerns.

PAC™ Positive Physical Approach™ and Hand-Under-Hand ®
This workshop helps learners understand and recognize the differences in normal and not normal aging. The learner will develop better observational skills to recognize and intervene effectively when behavioral challenges occur. Learners will also develop new skills related to approach, cueing, and the ability to connect with people affected by dementia. The workshop will also address typical changes that happen in the early, middle, and late stages of the condition including the final care concerns.

PAC™ GEMS ® – Seeing more than loss
This workshop helps learners understand the GEMS ® Model developed by Teepa Snow. This model is based on the Allen cognitive scale and focuses on what is retained for people living with dementia instead of only focusing on what is lost. In identifying retained skills and abilities, learners will be able to provide the right level of support and assistance in care with people in different ability states. By understanding GEMS ® States, we can learn to provide the best care and setting so that everyone can shine.
